Who is the founder of Balatejassu?

Rama Krishna Mannava earned his master’s degree in sociology but dedicated his life to helping children in need. He is married to Suhasini and they have two children, Grace and Joel.

What does the name Balatejassu mean?

Balatejassu means ‘children emitting light’ (Bala - child, Tejassu - bright) in Telugu.

How did Balatejassu begin?

Balatejassu was formed in 2001 after Mr. Mannava witnessed a train accident at a railway station in which a homeless boy was hurt. While aiding the injured boy, Mr. Mannava learned that he had run away from home and had been living on the street for over a month. After much effort, the boy successfully returned to his parents.  This incident touched Mr. Mannava deeply and he decided to focus on helping other homeless children living in and around railway stations.
